Hydro-soundproofing floor with the use of Ultrakustik-100 Hydro

Overview

The structures of soundproof floating floors are used in construction and renovation of buildings of any type and purpose for insulating floor from impact noise and providing additional reduction of airborne noise. It is necessary to take into account the change in the thickness of the soundproof layer when the workloads on the base change in the process of designing the structures of floating floors.

The structure is used in rooms with increased requirements for waterproofing. The construction consists of a layer of reinforced cement-sand screed with a thickness of at least 60 mm laid on the soundproofing material Ultrakustik-100 Hydro.

You can calculate the approximate estimate of sound insulation in your case. To do this, it is enough to enter the surface area that is supposed to be isolated. The estimate is calculated with a 5% margin, as well as taking into account rounding to whole packages. Please note that the estimate is approximate, since it does not take into account the individual characteristics of your premises.

  • The air temperature in the room must be above + 5°C. Before installation carefully sweep the floor base to prevent construction debris ingress.
  • The material is rolled out and cut in such a way as to completely cover the floor area and provide placing on walls or columns 100 mm above the level of the finished screed. The bituminous surface of the material must face upwards, and the edges must overlap one another.
  • The joints between the sheets of material are glued by softening the bitumen with a heat gun.
  • After laying the Ultrakustik-100Hydro material, pour a cement-sand screed 60 mm thick from grade M-300 sand concrete or readymixed concrete.
  • When arranging a screed, reinforce it with a metal mesh with a cell size of 50x50 mm and a rod with a diameter of 4 mm.
  • The mesh should be located in the screed layer not less than 20 mm from its lower level and not higher than the screed center line.
  • The mesh is laid with an overlap of joints of 100 mm, which are fastened with knitting wire every 200 mm.
