Acoustic modeling

To calculate all the required acoustic parameters of the architectural acoustics our engineers apply two main software envelopes to simulate the halls with the natural acoustics and with the usage of the systems of the loudspeakers: ODEON 12.12 and EASE 4.3.

ODEON

The software ODEON was initially developed and used to model the premises with the natural acoustics only. But, since recent times, the mentioned software environment developed a possibility to model the halls with the loudspeakers system, and the data base of the characteristics of the equipment for the electric insonation is amended gradually. ODEON is used for the calculations since 1984, its development is made at the Denmark Technical University (DTU). And year by year the developers continue to increase the quality and the speed of calculations. The ODEON software considers geometry and the acoustic properties of the surfaces. This software uses the Image Source Method and the Ray Tracing Method.

ODEON example 1

The example of the calculating the spreading of the index of the music clarity C80 in the audience zone in a Small Hall of the State Conservatory of Moscow named by P.I. Tchaikovsky (ODEON 12.12).

ODEON example 2

The example of the calculating of the acoustic field in a Small Hall of the State Conservatory of Moscow named by P.I. Tchaikovsky (ODEON 12.12). The acoustic field on the 26th millisecond after the impulse excitation of the sound on the stage. The red points represent the direct sound, the green ones - the sound reflected once, the yellow once - the sound reflected twice.

ODEON example 3

The example of the calculating the spreading of the energy of the early lateral reflections LF in the Theatre of Nations (ODEON 12.12)

ODEON example 4

The example of the calculation of the acoustic field in the Theatre of Nations (ODEON 12.12). The acoustic field on the 25th millisecond after the impulse excitation of the sound on the stage. The red points represent the direct sound, the green ones - the sound reflected once, the yellow once - the sound reflected twice.

EASE

The Software EASE one of the leaders in the electric acoustic modeling of the halls with the built-in loudspeakers systems for more than 30 years. It is developed by the AFMG Technologies GmbH Company, Germany. The EASE software, together with the additional module AURA are aimed to model the operation of the loudspeakers system in the premises and the acoustic parameters of the premises. With a help of this software all the main acoustic parameters of the premises can be calculated (the reverberation time RT, STI, С80, D50, LF and others). The modeling is based on the Ray Tracing Method. To obtain the high level of the accuracy of the modeling a large and detailed base of the acoustic systems of all the big manufacturers is amended to EASE. The complex of software it has gives a possibility to model the acoustics of the concert halls and opera halls, theatres, churches, mosques, open space offices, halls, restaurants, music studios, underground stations and railway stations, airport terminals, industrial premises and open air concert venues.
