ZIPS STS panels deal effectively with the majority of household noises typical of apartment buildings.

They are designed specifically to eliminate resonant vibrations of thin and lightweight partitions.

Additional sound insulation up to 10 dB for thin tongue-and-groove partitions or partitions made of AAC blocks

ZIPS STS panels feature low thickness and weight and provide a significant increase in sound insulation over a wide frequency range, improving inherent sound insulation of a thin building structure by 10 dB.

Low Thickness of the Panel

Mounted ZIPS STS panels do not alter visual perception of space volume.

Due to low thickness of 23 mm (1 in), the panels allow to save as much as possible of the useful space.

Easily Installed

The anti-resonance operating principle of the ZIPS STS panels does not involve the use of elastic liners and acoustic sealant in the soundproof structure. Fastening joints are sealed with ordinary putty, which greatly facilitates installation and reduces costs, offering good soundproofing properties.

The panels are mounted directly on the base without preliminary wall preparation.

Features

Thin partitions are sheathed with the ZIPS STS panels only on one side.

Sheathing on both sides provides no tangible result. The additional soundproofing effect is significantly manifested after sheathing on one side and does not increase when a layer is added on the backside of the partition.

ZIPS STS can be used in residential and industrial premises.

Maintenance info

Composition and description

Gypsum fiber tongue-and-groove element (thickness 20 mm (0.8 in))

Multilayer glass-fiber mat (thickness 3 mm (0.1 in))

The product is mounted on the surface through compensating washers

Storage

ZIPS STS panels should be stored in dry enclosed spaces on lined materials to avoid sagging.

Features of the material usage

ZIPS STS can be used in residential and industrial premises on either side of a thin partition with a thickness of not more than 100 mm (4 in).

It is not recommended to use the system on partitions less than 80 mm (3 in) thick.

Do I have to use Ultrakustik Tape 100/150 damping tape when mounting ZIPS STS on the wall?
Expert answer

When mounting the ZIPS Slim panels, you don’t have to use Ultrakustik Tape 100/150 damping tape around the perimeter as is the case with other panels of the ZIPS line, since ZIPS STS principle of operation differs from other ZIPS solutions and there are no rigid connections of the sound insulation structure with the building enclosing structures.

Can I mount ZIPS STS on an adjoining wall?
Expert answer

The ZIPS STS panels are only suitable for sound insulation of thin partitions up to 10 cm (4 in) thick; adjoining walls (in case of a single-layer construction) are often thicker, ZIPS STS will be low efficient with such walls and is not recommended for use.

Can I mount ZIPS STS on both sides of the partition?
Expert answer

The use of ZIPS STS on both sides of a thin partition is not an optimal solution. Construction with ZIPS STS mounted on only one side is the most efficient.
