ZIPS Floor Modul

ZIPS-Floor Modul panel system is one of the most efficient solutions when it comes to soundproofing reinforced concrete intermediate floorings.

The operating range of the system is practically the entire frequency spectrum of domestic noise perceived by humans.

Eight Special Vibration-isolating S-supports

ZIPS Floor Modul panels are fixed to the floor slab with the help of special vibration insulation supports made from Sylomer polyurethane elastomer designed to prevent rigid connections with the floor base.

Shock Noise Reduction Index is 32 dB

The use of lightweight sound-absorbing and heavy sound-reflecting layers in the panels, as well as the absence of rigid connections with floor slab surface allows the ZIPS Floor Modul system to efficiently deal with the problems of shock and airborne sound of medium intensity.

  • Additional shock noise insulation index for the ZIPS Floor Modul system is 32 dB
  • Additional airborne noise insulation - 9 dB.

No Need for Screed

System installation is very simple and allows to avoid "wet" manipulations during installation of floor sound insulation.

ZIPS Floor Modul panels are mounted on vibration supports on leveled floor slab and are connected to each other by tongue-and-groove edges.

ZIPS DB acoustic triplex sheets and the finishing layer of plywood are fixed on top of the panels with screws.

The edges of sandwich panels must adjoin to side surfaces (walls, columns, and thresholds) through two layers of an elastic spacer made of Ultrakustik Tape 100 material.

Features

ZIPS Floor Modul panel system is one of the most efficient and technologically advantageous solutions when it comes to soundproofing reinforced concrete intermediate floorings.

The materials and production technologies used have made it possible to obtain a sandwich panel that effectively copes with the elimination of shock noise and significantly reduces the penetration of household appliances sounds and the human voice.

The operating range of the system is practically the entire frequency spectrum of domestic noise perceived by humans.

Maintenance info

Composition and description

ZIPS Floor Modul sound-insulating system consists of 75-mm (3 in) thick ZIPS Floor Modul sandwich panels, 16.5 mm (0.6 in) thick ZIPS DB acoustic triplex, and an 18 mm (0.7 in) plywood layer.

ZIPS Floor Modul sandwich panels are two-layer sandwiches consisting of a combination of a "hard" layer of gypsum plasterboard (GPB) and a "soft" layer of basalt mineral fiber, with built-in vibration supports made of Sylomer material.

Storage

ZIPS Floor Modul panels must be stored in dry, enclosed premises, away from any precipitation.

The panels should be stacked horizontally on wooden pallets, boards, or other padding materials to avoid sagging.

Features of the material usage

ZIPS Floor Modul sound-insulating panel system is used during construction and renovation of buildings to improve soundproofing of intermediate flooring.

Why do I need PVA mastic/adhesive?
Expert answer

PVA mastic/adhesive is required to better fix plywood against the gypsum plasterboard (GPB) and to avoid possible squeaks when walking.
